We are excited to begin programming this year. Sisterhood in the City continues to be a partnership between Tacoma Urban League’s Girls with Purpose, Girl Scouts of Western Washington, Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, and Ladies First. Sisterhood in the City serves girls ages 11-17. We are excited to add STEM partnerships and STEM field trip experiences with Point Defiance Zoo and IDEA High School.
Our school year programming dates are above. “No Programming” means we will not offer Sisterhood in the City that day due to breaks, holidays, or conferences in area school districts.
Although not listed on the schedule, some sessions will be off-site for experiences that may include:
• Pottery Making
• Trip to the Zoo

Programming will begin Thursday, November 1, 2018. 💓 We have moved regular programming to Tacoma Urban League on Thursdays, 5PM until 6:30PM. The time + day are the same as last year but the location (2550 Yakima Ave. in Tacoma) will make parking and programming much easier. Yay!!
We will provide a light meal/snacks each week. Families are welcome to contribute.
This year we are offering more STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) experiences for our members.
👩🏾🔬If your school has MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement), please get involved. If you have questions on how to join MESA, Mrs. June Ellis can answer all of them.

Please submit your forms by our 2nd session on Thursday, November 8th. We will have printed copies available. Through our partnership with Girl Scouts, all girls will have Girl Scouts membership and we certainly want to do cookie sales. 😁
Membership is $25 for the year. You can pay $25 at once or in installments throughout the school year. If you need financial assistance, please complete the financial assistance form. Every girl is welcome. We will ensure the membership fee is covered for every girl.
