Let’s Go To Israel!

Made it to Israel, y’all! 🇮🇱

I am so excited to share this trip with you all. ♥️ The first day was mainly a travel day. We arrived in Tel Aviv, Israel to check into our first hotel, LINK hotel & hub, and then hurried over to a presentation on Israeli elections before dinner at מסעדת Meatos Grill Bar.

Thank you to the America-Israel Friendship League and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this opportunity to foster Israel and American relations.

Shalom

Touring beautiful Old Jaffa in Tel Aviv, Israel. 😍

Our second day in Israel we enjoyed a presentation from IsraAID, toured Jaffa, spent time with students at Shevach Mofet School Tel Aviv, and visited NATAL Israel- Israel’s trauma center for victims of terror and war. ♥️ We also spent a great deal of time talking about being Black and/or a Black Jew in Israel and the impacts of racism.

We visited Jewish, Christian and Muslim holy sites in Old City #Jerusalem and left our prayers at the Western Wall. We also visited the breathtaking Yad Vashem: World Holocaust Center, Jerusalem and I experienced my very first #shabbat dinner with gracious hosts Rabbi Ian and wife Rachel.

“Masada is a rugged natural fortress, of majestic beauty, in the Judean Desert overlooking the Dead Sea. It was built as a palace complex, in the classic style of the early Roman Empire, Herod the Great, king of Judea reigned in the years 37-4 BCE.”

Hello Jerusalem! 🇮🇱

We drove from Sea of Galilee to Jerusalem for a conversation with the Issfiya Druze Village Mayor and a tour of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), had meetings and lunch at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and checked into our 2nd hotel/kibbutz – @nofginosar.
