GRLBoss Series promotes sisterhood, leadership, health, education, confidence + self-love. Events are typically for women and girls ages 11 and up.

Basic Auto Clinic – April 19th – Meet us at Bates Technical College South Campus for a Basic Auto Clinic with Automotive Technology Assistant Jasmin Sims. Jasmin will teach us how to change a car’s oil, how to change a tire, and other basic auto care tips girls are often not taught. The address is 2201 S. 78th Street in Tacoma. Please meet in the cafeteria in Building A. (ages 11-17)

Women + Girls Ride – May 5th – Let’s ride bikes, learn from each other, and have fun! Biking is on the rise and is becoming an increasingly important mode if transportation. This experience is an effort to expand biking opportunities and ensure diverse populations of women and girl are biking too. This event is co-sponsored by Velofemmes and part of the Ride Like a Girl series. This ride is open to women + girls in the 253 community. Healthy snacks will available. Please meet at Salishan Community Health Care at 11AM. The address is 1708 E 44th St on the Eastside of Tacoma. The ride will conclude at 1:30PM. (ages 8 and up)

DOPE Hair – June 23rd – Solange already warned you…”don’t touch my hair.” But come out and learn about natural hair care, natural hair products, + make new friends as we celebrate the beautiful hair, every single kink and curl, that makes us unique QUEENS. This is a positive day to celebrate our DOPE hair and our DOPE sisterhood. This event will be held at Tacoma Urban League from 12PM until 2:30PM. The address is 2550 South Yakima Ave in Tacoma. (all ages)

Women + Girls Power Brunch – July 7th – 11AM until 1PM – More details to come.

Girls in Medicine w/ MultiCare- August 10th – Are you are interested in medicine or healthcare? Join us for a MultiCare-hosted women’s panel, lunch with healthcare leaders, and an interactive discussion on being in control of your health. We will meet at Tacoma General Hospital at 10AM and will conclude our visit at 1PM. The address is 315 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Tacoma. (ages 11-17)

Environmental Justice Camp w/ Citizens for a Healthy Bay – August 11th + 12th – Not only will we cruise on a boat during this two-day camp, but environmental experts at Citizens for a Healthy Bay will guide us through a unique learning experience around achieving a clean and healthy Commencement Bay that benefits both our community and the surrounding ecosystem that calls Puget Sound home. Camp will run 9AM-3PM both days and will be hosted at the Citizens for a Healthy Bay office. The address is 535 Dock Street, Suite 213, in Tacoma. (ages 11-17)
