Dating Violence (One Circle Foundation – “Paths to the Future, ” Girls Circle Program)

Teen Dating Violence is often hidden, maybe because teenagers are inexperienced with dating relationships. Teen dating violence is influenced by how teenagers look at themselves and others. Many young women believe they are responsible for solving problems in their relationships and if love hurts, that might be “just how it goes.”

Let’s put an end to this way of thinking by studying the facts regarding dating violence and teens, defining dating violence and identifying the different way that it occurs in girls’ lives, recognizing the misuse of power and control in relationships and how abusive relationships impact girls, identifying ways for girls to “be safer” when involved in relationships, and providing Local and National Dating or Sexual Violence resources.

Ladies First at Stadium High School will begin during lunch on January 30th, 2013!
