TAM Gala 2019

Tacoma Art Museum (TAM) is one of my favorite destinations in Tacoma. When the kids were little and our family was much smaller, we enjoyed our visits with our TAM membership. As our family grew and more money was invested in activities the kids chose, we took advantage of “free third Thursday” visits so we could stay connected to the arts and experience the many beautiful exhibits and community events. Two summers ago my professional world collided with my love for TAM as we engaged in an unforgettable STEM+Arts summer partnership where our Tacoma Urban League youth learned to record and edit short films that represented art and beauty in their eyes.STEM+Arts Camp – Summer ‘18It was such an honor to return to the museum this past weekend as a speaker for the annual TAM Gala where we paused to celebrate the life of Dick Moe. My husband and I met incredible community members including Vashon Island painter Leslie Wu and TAM Life Trustee Wendy Griffin. I send a huge THANK YOU to my ALF classmate Jeff Williams and Mark Pinto for being my hosts for the evening. TAM definitely knows how to throw a party! 🎉 I hope to attend again next year! #saycheese The professional TAM Gala photo credit goes to CB Bell Media.
